Strengths: This product works great. It really holds the computer snuggly.

Weaknesses: It is kind of big.

Summary: All in all, I would rate this computer docking station a 10! It is great and if I could buy 500 of these things, I totally would!

Summary: I bought this item because I needed the PCI Express slot. Always a gamble to try to do strange things with a laptop so it's not entirely unexpected. However, the slot wasn't big enough for the card I had. Upon taking the dock apart, I could make the card fit and work but the dock will never be the same. This dock is also huge compared with a port replicator.

Strengths: Full function docking station for T-61. Like the specs indicate, lots of connectors and options. Solid unit.

Weaknesses: Headset jacks on front of T-61 should disable/mute docking station connectors. Footprint a little large compared to other vendors laptop units.

Summary: After 7 years of using a full docking station with my T20/30/40's I got used to the capabilities that offered me. When my T61 came in, had to decide was the price delta enough to justify the full docking station vs "partial" docks. With two months of real world experience (and a migration) now behind me... I'd do it again. Biggest down side is that footprint of the unit makes using dock with laptop engaged, and full size keyboard a challange unless back of dock (and cables) or keyboard hangs off edge of most desks/work stations (or you use a narrow full size keyboard - sans 45 special function programmable keys). Make sure to check Lenovo web site for BIOS updates for your laptop as there are a multitude of small glitches reportedly fixed with the current BIOS.

Strengths: Plug and play, many ports, quiet, extra bay for optical or other drive.

Weaknesses: Takes up more space than I had hoped

Summary: I really wanted a docking station so that I could use my old but still functional laser printer that required a parallel port. I tried another brand but the functionality of the Lenovo model is far superior. Each time I would reconnect my laptop to the other model, the system would add another printer. Soon I had 6 or 7 printers.

Summary: Lenovo Advanced Dock is a very useful device when you are looking for every feature available in Docking stations. Eventhough the price is high when compared to other docks but it is worthful to invest on this gadget in turning you laptop into a desktop CPU.

Strengths: Works great once you get the hang of it.

Weaknesses: Can be a little hard to get the laptop to snap in until you get the hang of it.

Summary: This is a good investment of someone looking to expand from the basic port replicator. It gives you built in power and the ability to add in pci cards which is really convenient. I would recommend this item especially because the other port replicator you have to buy an ac adapter with, which increases the cost considerably.
